Collective Escape is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
This code of conduct applies to all Collective Escape spaces, including Discord, Twitter, and Instagram, both online and off. Anyone who violates this code of conduct may be sanctioned or expelled from these spaces at the discretion of the administrators.
Some Collective Escape spaces may have additional rules in place, which will be made clearly available to participants. Participants are responsible for knowing and abiding by these rules.
Please keep what's said in private channels confidential. Don't repeat or quote things said there without the affirmative consent of the speaker(s). You may quote private conversations only with full consent of all participants.
Please be mindful that things you say in private channels may at some point become public. We cannot prevent people from screencapping or otherwise logging this server. We also can't guarantee that every member's login credentials and logged-in devices are secure.
Files uploaded here can be downloaded by anyone with a login.
Please exercise caution and refrain from sharing sensitive information that could harm you or others if it became public.
Assume public channels can be viewed by anyone, whether an active member or not.
Do not share or otherwise reuse any artwork, code, or other output shared within Collective Escape without explicit affirmative permission from the creator/author/artist.
Harassment includes:
Collective escape prioritizes marginalized people’s safety over privileged people’s comfort. Admins reserve the right not to act on complaints regarding:
If you are being harassed by a member of Collective Escape, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact the current administrators on Discord (currently monica and phae). If the person who is harassing you is on the team, they will recuse themselves from handling your incident. We will respond as promptly as we can.
This code of conduct applies to Collective Escape spaces, but if you are being harassed by a member of Collective Escape outside our spaces, we still want to know about it. We will take all good-faith reports of harassment by Collective Escape members, especially administrators, seriously. This includes harassment outside our spaces and harassment that took place at any point in time. The abuse team reserves the right to exclude people from Collective Escape based on their past behavior, including behavior outside Collective Escape spaces and behavior towards people who are not in Collective Escape.
In order to protect volunteers from abuse and burnout, we reserve the right to reject any report we believe to have been made in bad faith. Reports intended to silence legitimate criticism may be deleted without response.
We will respect confidentiality requests for the purpose of protecting victims of abuse. At our discretion, we may publicly name a person about whom we’ve received harassment complaints, or privately warn third parties about them, if we believe that doing so will increase the safety of Collective Escape members or the general public. We will not name harassment victims without their affirmative consent.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, administrators may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from all Collective Escape spaces and identification of the participant as a harasser to other Collective Escape members or the general public.
